About Me

My
Story
Hello! I'm Regina, the heart and hands behind Crown & Needle. My sewing journey began in 2012, inspired by the desire to create baby items for my middle child. Armed with Grandma's old sewing machine & countless YouTube tutorials, I taught myself to sew. With a background in graphic design and a passion for crafting, I soon upgraded to a convertible machine capable of small 4x4 embroidery. I was instantly hooked, and sewing quickly became a true passion.
Over the years, I created countless gifts for friends and family, which led me to specialize in memory bears and pillows crafted from precious fabrics like baby clothes or cherished garments from loved ones.
I'm originally from Arizona, but I spent many years in Louisiana before moving to San Diego in 2017 to support my husband's Naval service. After his retirement in 2021, we settled in Coronado, where I transformed our dining room into the sewing studio of my dreams.
2024 has been a milestone year for me. I enrolled in Mesa College's Fashion Design program, which sparked my creativity to explore upcycling fabrics into fashion pieces and memory keepsakes. I also expanded my business by acquiring a 15-needle commercial embroidery machine, allowing me to offer a full range of professional embroidery services alongside custom sewing.
